Acupuncture Therapy
Service 1

Acupuncture Therapy

Acupuncture involves placing fine needles at specific points along the body’s meridians to support the balance of Yin and Yang and promote the healthy movement of Qi and blood.

Scope of Application This therapy may be used for acute and chronic pain conditions, including neck, shoulder, back, and leg pain, headaches, and arthritis. It is also applied to internal medicine concerns such as insomnia, gastrointestinal disorders, and hypertension; surgical and soft tissue issues including soft tissue injuries and skin conditions; gynecological concerns such as irregular menstruation and menopausal syndrome; pediatric conditions including indigestion and low immunity; men’s health concerns including prostate enlargement, impotence, premature ejaculation, and sexual dysfunction; and aesthetic TCM applications such as acne management, anti-aging, weight management, skin lifting, and edema reduction.

Precautions Please do not receive acupuncture on an empty stomach or right after a heavy meal. Extra caution is needed for those who are pregnant or who have severe heart disease or bleeding disorders. Be sure to tell your acupuncturist if you take anti-platelet or anticoagulant medications. After treatment, keep warm, avoid exposure to cold drafts, and wait at least 4 hours before bathing.

Key Benefits

Medication-free support for pain relief
Reduced inflammation
Improved circulation
Helps support healthy immune function
Helps ease stress and anxiety
Better sleep quality

What to Expect From Your Visit

At the start of your acupuncture session, you’ll get comfortable while your practitioner places very fine needles at selected points. Most patients feel little to no discomfort. Once the needles are in place, you’ll rest for about 20 to 30 minutes, and many people notice a strong sense of calm during that time. Some patients even fall asleep.

Traditional Chinese Herbal Medicine
Service 2

Traditional Chinese Herbal Medicine

Chinese Herbal Medicine uses carefully chosen herbal formulas to help harmonize the Yin, Yang, Qi, and blood of the organs based on TCM syndrome differentiation.

Scope of Application It may be used for internal medicine conditions, including stomach complaints, liver disease, and cardiovascular disease; gynecological concerns such as menstrual disorders, infertility, and menopause; pediatric issues including colds and indigestion; men’s health concerns including kidney deficiency and impotence; recovery after chronic illness; and anti-aging and wellness support.

Precautions Herbal formulas should only be taken under the supervision of a qualified TCM practitioner. If you are taking Western medications, let your practitioner know so the herbal prescription can be adjusted appropriately. Pregnant women and people with special health circumstances should follow their practitioner’s guidance closely.

Key Benefits

Customized to fit your individual health needs
Addresses underlying patterns, not just surface symptoms
Often well tolerated with few side effects
Can complement acupuncture treatment well
Well suited for ongoing and chronic conditions
Helps support immune system resilience

What to Expect From Your Visit

We begin with a detailed consultation and TCM assessment. Based on that, we create a herbal formula tailored to your specific needs and give you clear instructions for preparing and taking it. As treatment continues, we check in regularly and adjust the formula as needed to keep your care aligned with your progress.

Therapeutic Cupping
Service 3

Therapeutic Cupping

Cupping therapy uses negative pressure to hold cups against the skin, which expands the capillaries underneath to promote blood flow, reduce stagnation, and support the body in expelling wind and cold.

Scope of Application It is commonly applied for colds, coughs, asthma, rheumatic joint pain, and muscle tension in the neck, shoulders, and back associated with wind-cold pathogens.

Precautions Cupping should not be performed over broken or irritated skin, in people with bleeding disorders, or on the abdominal and lower back areas of pregnant women. Elderly patients should use extra caution. After treatment, avoid cold exposure, do not overexert yourself, and wait before bathing to help prevent wind-cold from entering through the pores.

Key Benefits

Helps release deep muscle tension
Supports healthy circulation
Reduced inflammation
Pain relief
Can support recovery after injury
Respiratory support

What to Expect From Your Visit

During cupping therapy, your practitioner places glass or silicone cups on areas with tension or discomfort. Most people describe the suction as a strong pulling feeling rather than pain. The cups may remain in place for 5 to 15 minutes, or they may be moved across the skin. It’s common to see temporary circular marks afterward, and these usually fade within a few days.

Tui Na Therapeutic Massage
Service 5

Tui Na Therapeutic Massage

Tui Na uses skilled manual techniques on the body’s meridians, muscles, and joints to help regulate Qi and blood, release tension in the tendons, and improve circulation in specific areas.

Scope of Application This therapy may be used for neck, shoulder, back, and leg pain, muscle strain, sports injuries, indigestion, and pediatric conditions such as cough or constipation.

Precautions Tui Na should not be performed over open wounds, active skin infections, or areas affected by bone tumors. Deep abdominal pressure is not appropriate during pregnancy. For elderly patients or those with osteoporosis, only gentle techniques should be used.

Key Benefits

Helps relieve muscle pain and long-standing tension
Improved joint mobility
Supports better posture and structural alignment
Enhanced circulation
Stress reduction
Injury recovery support

What to Expect From Your Visit

Tui Na may feel gentle and calming or more active and stimulating, depending on your condition and constitution. Your practitioner uses a variety of hands-on techniques with the hands, fingers, elbows, and sometimes the feet. You remain fully clothed during the session, which usually lasts about 30 to 60 minutes.

Gua Sha Therapy
Service 6

Gua Sha Therapy

Gua Sha uses a smooth tool and friction-based scraping to stimulate circulation, open the meridians, and bring stagnant blood to the surface to support the body in expelling pathogens.

Scope of Application It is commonly used for colds, fever, sore throat, heatstroke, hypertension, and tension or stiffness in the neck, shoulders, and back.

Precautions Do not use this therapy over broken skin or moles. It is not appropriate for people with bleeding disorders and should not be performed on the abdomen during pregnancy. After treatment, keep the area warm and covered, and avoid cold drafts or bathing immediately afterward.

Key Benefits

Rapid pain relief
Reduced muscle tension
Decreased inflammation
Supports healthy immune function
Enhanced circulation
May support faster recovery after illness

What to Expect From Your Visit

Your practitioner first applies oil to the skin, then uses a smooth-edged tool with firm strokes over areas of tension or discomfort. The treatment creates noticeable pressure and scraping, which can feel intense but is usually manageable for most people. Red or purple-toned marks often appear during the session and typically fade within 2 to 7 days.

Herbal Patch Therapy
Service 7

Herbal Patch Therapy

Specially prepared herbal pastes or powders are placed directly on selected acupoints or areas of discomfort so the medicinal ingredients can be absorbed through the skin.

Scope of Application This approach is commonly used for rheumatic joint pain, ongoing low back and leg pain, asthma, rhinitis, pediatric cough concerns (including San-Fu-Tie), and various skin conditions.

Precautions Use carefully on sensitive skin. Do not apply to broken skin or open wounds. If marked redness, swelling, or itching occurs, stop using it immediately.

Wellness & Lifestyle Counseling
Service 8

Wellness & Lifestyle Counseling

True wellbeing is shaped by more than what happens during treatment visits.

Our lifestyle counseling takes a broader view of your health, including sleep, movement, stress, and the habits that make up daily life.

Using TCM principles as a guide, we tailor each recommendation to your individual constitution and current life circumstances.

Key Benefits

Meaningful health changes that can last
Better sleep quality
Simple, useful ways to cope with stress
More energy and an improved sense of vitality
Emotional balance
Preventive support aimed at lowering future illness risk

What to Expect From Your Visit

During your care, we look at key parts of your everyday routine and share practical guidance you can actually use. Suggestions may include breathing techniques, meditation, better sleep habits, seasonal routine changes, and healthier ways to respond to stress. We aim to help you make steady changes that fit your life and feel sustainable over time.

Common Questions, Clear Answers

Helpful information about our services, safety standards, and what care is like

Most people tolerate acupuncture very well and feel little to no discomfort. The needles are extremely thin—much finer than those used for injections—so insertion usually causes only a brief, mild sensation, if anything. Once the needles are in place, many patients feel deeply relaxed, and it’s not unusual to fall asleep during treatment.
The number of treatments varies based on your condition, how long it has been present, and how your body responds as care progresses. More recent or acute issues may improve within 3–6 visits, while chronic concerns often need 10–15 sessions or longer. We’ll outline a personalized treatment plan at the beginning and adjust it along the way based on your progress.
Chinese medicine is generally considered safe when it is provided by a qualified, licensed practitioner. We use sterile, single-use needles and follow strict safety procedures during every visit. Chinese herbal medicine has been shaped through thousands of years of clinical use, and we use tested, high-quality herbs from trusted suppliers. When side effects do happen, they are uncommon and usually mild.
Yes—TCM is often used alongside Western medical care. Many patients choose acupuncture to help with medication or procedure-related side effects, support recovery, or address concerns that have not fully improved with conventional treatment alone. We encourage you to keep all of your healthcare providers informed so your care stays coordinated.
Wear loose, comfortable clothing that can be rolled up easily so we can access areas like the arms, legs, and back. Gowns are available if needed. We also ask that you avoid perfume and heavily scented products on treatment days, since some patients are sensitive to fragrances.
We accept most major insurance plans that include acupuncture benefits. If your plan requires you to submit claims yourself, we can give you a detailed superbill to send in for possible reimbursement. We suggest reaching out before your appointment so we can help confirm your benefits. If you’re paying out of pocket, we also offer self-pay rates and package options.
Try to eat a light meal about one to two hours before your visit, since coming in on an empty stomach is not recommended. On the day of treatment, limit alcohol and too much caffeine. Bring a list of any medications or supplements you take, wear comfortable clothing, and be ready to go over your health history in some detail. You’re always welcome to bring questions, too.
It’s very common to feel nervous about needles, and many patients are surprised by how comfortable acupuncture can be. The needles are very fine, and insertion is usually painless. We’ll go at a pace that feels comfortable for you, explain each step as we go, and can start with fewer needles if that makes things easier. We also offer needle-free options such as herbal medicine, cupping, and Tui Na massage.
